Accessibility Policy

1. Introduction

Office Chair Outlet (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to making our website and services accessible to all people, including persons with disabilities. We aim to provide an inclusive shopping experience that ensures equitable access to our products, information and support channels.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to content published on officechairoutlet.co.za and to digital communications we control. It does not extend to third-party platforms or content we do not manage (for example, embedded widgets, courier tracking portals or external payment gateways). However, we encourage such providers to follow recognised standards.

  • Clear presentation: Sufficient colour contrast, resizable text, logical headings and accessible forms with labels and error messages.
  • Text alternatives: Meaningful alt text for non-decorative images and transcripts/captions for time-based media where applicable.
  • Predictable operation: Consistent navigation, focus order and avoiding unexpected context changes.
  • Structure & semantics: Use of semantic HTML to support assistive technology.
  • Testing & improvement: Periodic audits, including manual checks and assistive technology spot-tests, with remediation prioritised by user impact.

5. Compatibility

The Website is intended to function with current versions of major browsers and operating systems, as well as common assistive technologies (for example, screen readers and magnifiers). The best experience is typically achieved on the latest stable browser versions. Some legacy combinations may have reduced support.

6. Third-Party Content & Platforms

Certain services (e.g., courier tracking via external providers or embedded payment gateways) are delivered by third parties. While we cannot control their accessibility, we select reputable providers and raise accessibility issues with them where identified.

7. Alternative Access & Assistance

If you experience difficulty using the Website or require information in an alternative format, please get in touch with us. We will provide reasonable assistance and, where appropriate, alternative ways to access content or place orders.

8. Feedback & Issue Reporting

Your feedback helps us improve. Please include, where possible, the page URL, a brief description of the issue, the browser and assistive technology used, and any screenshots.

  • Acknowledgement: We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days.
  • Resolution: We aim to provide an update or proposed fix within 7 business days, depending on complexity and third-party involvement.

9. Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

Accessibility considerations are integrated into our design, content and release processes. We review this Policy and our site periodically and after significant updates to address newly identified barriers.
